Los Angeles-based guitarist/songwriter Bill Hudson has become a very sought after name in the hard rock world in recent years. Whether he is in Germany headlining the biggest heavy metal festival in the world or in the studio recording guitars for a video game soundtrack, there’s never a dull moment in the life of the Brazilian musician.
In the summer of 2015, he made history in Germany, headlining Wacken Open Air (biggest heavy metal festival in the world), performing in front of 80,000 fans with the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, alongside metal titans SAVATAGE at a never- before attempted double stage performance. Such opportunity came from years of his connection with SAVATAGE music, whether he was touring the world with original singer and mastermind, Jon Oliva, or their second and equally legendary frontman, Zak Stevens.
Hudson has once again joined the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA for their winter tour in 2015, performing 52 shows in 6 weeks throughout the US and Canada for an average of 15,000 fans a day.
His guitar can be heard at the soundtrack of the video game METAL GEAR RISING: Revengeance, as well as several records by metal bands such as ONCE HUMAN (produced by Logan Mader of MACHINE HEAD fame) and WESTFIELD MASSACRE (featuring SNOT vocalist, Tommy Vext).
Working in a much different environment, Hudson has done a tour of Argentina alongside award-wining jazz guitarist Vernon Neilly which has taken him through a guitar festival in Buenos Aires as well as taking part in a masterclass for students at the University of LaPlata in 2010.
His rock/metal background is added to classically trained dexterity and the experience of touring and performing around throughout more than 40 countries playing a diverse range of styles, which can range from Bossa Nova to Death Metal.
He has appeared at the most important Rock and Metal festivals in the world, such as WACKEN OPEN AIR (Germany, 2012 and 2015), LOUDPARK (Japan, 2007), GRASPOP (Belgium, 2015) ROCKSTAD: Falun (Sweden, 2012), PROGPOWER (USA, 2007, 2008, 2013, 2014) as well as heavy metal cruises such as FULL METAL CRUISE (Germany/France/UK, 2013) and BARGE TO HELL (2012).
In 2012, he was chosen by ESP Guitars to become the face of their promotion campaign. As a result, his photo was on the cover of the company’s 2013 Product Catalog and has been used on their starter packs in France since. In 2015, he was once again featured by the company both in their catalog and at their booth at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California.
Since 2007, Hudson has appeared in several guitar magazines around the world such as YOUNG GUITAR (Japan), GUITAR WORLD (USA) and others. His first-ever instrumental release, E.G.O was premiered on USA’s GUITAR WORLD MAGAZINE website, with a tutorial series.
